No one likes waking up to the equivalent of a drill sergeant yelling in your ear.
Rather than jolting your brain awake, natural light gradually makes you feel alert.
Which is a much more pleasant way to start the day.
By simulating a sunrise the alarm wakes the brain wakes up more naturally and increases alertness.
Seriously, before my new alarm clock, I could barely form a sentence before noon.
While I’d much rather stay in bed, getting up is no longer painful.
I’m never mad it’s time to go to bed.
Plus sleeping with your phone within arm’s reach isdisruptive to restfulnessanyway.
Now I’m productive in the mornings because I can form thoughts and I don’t hate everyone.
Sometimes I even have time to take a flat iron to my hair.
I used to put my makeup on at the office.
I’ve even become someone who has time to eat breakfast and go to the gym before work.
That’s a miracle.
I can easily get to work on time.
I’m often at my desk by 8:00.
Annoying, I know.
But I was the person who slinked into the office after 10:00, hoping no one would notice.
Before, I spent half the year not knowing if the clock meant A.M. or P.M.
11.
(Look how happy the alarm makes me in this totally natural sleeping picture.)
