I revel in my ability to TAKE UP SPACE.

In the security of my apartment, I have wiggle room.
Literal room to wiggle!
Wiggle and swan-dive and swivel my body every which way that feels good or right.
No one cares if I do Sun Salutations wearing ajanky old bra(or NAKED!…
This hasnt happened yet, butsomeday).
For me, yoga at home is freeing.
I feel more relaxed and sleep better after classes, even short ones.
Jade Yoga Harmony Mat
Amazon
My yoga mat is my most important prop.
Actually, its not a prop.
Two years ago I finally landed on my Goldilocks of mats: the just right Jade Yoga Harmony.
This was the mat supplied by my then studio.
When I sweat, I dont slide, and neither does the mat.
Personally, I dont own books substantial enough, that Itrustenough, to support my weight.
I trust this cork brick.
This feels great/awful/great, especially if youre a runner.
I badly wanted one and have spotted them at many studios over the years.
Lululemons (Small) Towel
Lululemon
I sweat a lot.
Many people think they sweat a lot, but Ireallysweat a lot.
Dont look at the back of my shirt right now.
Im sweating in my apartment writing this.
When I took yoga IRL, one of my biggest challenges was staying on the mat.
Still, I refused to spend money on any sort of athletic towel (because theyre justtowels, right?
), resorting to old washcloths, which moved sweat around my face more than absorbed it.
Those days are gone.
The (Small) towel is designed to soak up my sweat without leaving the fabric dripping.
Like a good mat, a good fitness towel isa solid investment.
Now I can do yoga with a personal fan aimed directly at my face.
I feel like Beyonce, hair fanning everywhere, and its delightful.
For the price, this is a powerful little fan that keeps my temperature down.
Sweat, be (mostly) gone.
I know, everyones obsessed with this water bottle.
Its a culty water bottle, sure, but it is undeniably a nice one.
I add a couple drops oflavender essential oilto it and keep it running while I practice.
When I inhale its fine vapors, a deep sense of calm settles over me.
The diffuser glows gently and has multiple timers.
I enjoy how moisturizing and delicate the air is (instead of being cloying as with a candle).
There areless costly alternatives to this diffuser, but I enjoy the simplicity and sleekness of my Muji model.
After particularly sweaty sessions, I use it to spot-clean with a cloth, then let the mat air-dry.
JBL Flip 4 Waterproof Speaker
A drawback to online-only yoga classes Ive encountered is poor sound.
Understandably, many teachers dont have professional audio-recording equipment at home.
I own an older model of this JBL Bluetooth speaker and highly recommend it.
Sky Ting Yoga Television Membership
Sky Ting
Sky Tingis a yoga studio based in New York City.
Pre-pandemic, I took their classes in personbut only occasionally, as each class cost over $20.
With the studio shut for the time being, they now offeronline classeson demand.
What I especially like is the variety of teachers and classes.
