Here, 13 women reveal their real-life roommate horror stories.

“My roommate and I had a townhouse with a light-colored carpet.

We’d gone out drinking and were a little in the bag by the time we got home.

In the morning when I got up, she was quite literally poop-faced.

She’s still mad!”

This annoyed my other roommate and me because she had a boyfriend that she was obviouslycheatingon!

We got together with her boyfriend and told him everything she was doing.

Of course, he broke up with her the next day and thanked us for telling him the truth.

Suddenly my perfect roommate decided that all common courtesy was off.

We’re adults, and I understand that you might have sex with your boyfriend.

But for goodness sake, stick to the code!

A sock takes two seconds to hang!"

Things went fine until we came back from a trip and found out what had really been going on.

Our roommate agreement, insurance policy, and human decency specifically forbade this.

I nicknamed her ‘the slug queen’ because she left a literal trail of putrefied food throughout the kitchen.

The floor, walls, and fridge were covered.

I believe she made many soups and smoothies, and she would carry them to her room to eat.

How she got it on walls and counters perplexed me the most.

It smelledhorrificand it was slippery!

I didn’t cook for a month.

Then the flies and cockroaches came.

“I was sharing a three-bedroom condo with two other women.

The other girl turned several shades of purple and left the condo, never to return.”

One night, I had adatewith a professional athlete who was going to pick me up.

She was in a just T-shirt and flip flops!

She almost ran out the door to meet him before I yelled at her to put some pants on.

As she headed upstairs, I ran outside and got into his car as fast as possible.

I looked back and saw her head pop out the door to catch a glimpse.

Needless to say, there was a conversation starter for the first date!"

“In my second year of law school, I tore all three ligaments in my ankle.

While my roommate was sympathetic to my plight on crutches, she didn’t show it within our apartment.

Day two on crutches, we ran out of toilet paper.

I asked if she could ensure to pick some up that day and she said sure.

The following day, there were paper towel sheets.

As I was going out the door, she asked where I was going.

I said ‘to get toilet paper!’

slammed the door and left.

It took me over two hours to go the one mile to CVS in my car and back.”

I felt horrible and dreaded telling Alyson about what I had done.

When she returned, I cried to her and told her what happened.

She was totally sympathetic and forgave my mistake.

And I’m happy to say Grace made a full recovery."

I stayed with my boyfriend for the rest of the semester."

“My freshman year in college, I lived with my best friend and one other girl.

That other roommate was homesick and missed her boyfriend, so she spent hours on the phone with him.

He made his own soap and detergent before Pinterest told you how, and he smelledterrible.

When he spent the night, I would wake up in coughing fits from the stench.”

I stood there, carton open, eating the almonds out bit-by-bit so you can save calories.

When it was over, I actually replaced the lid and put it back as though nothing had happened.

She moved out pretty much immediately and didn’t speak to me the rest of the year."
