So which temperature is best for keeping frizz at bay?

“A cold rinse closes the cuticle of your hair,” Rogers tells SELF.

“The flatter the cuticle lays, the smoother each strand will be.”

Once you shampoo your hair with lukewarm water, wash your conditioner out with frigid rinse.

You’re not using the attachments on your blowdryer.

“Always see to it to use a nozzle on your blowdryer,” says Rogers.

The attachments will direct heat to one specific spot of hair, creating a frizz-free finish.

A narrow nozzle is perfect for straight textures.

And if you have curly hair, add a diffuser to define your wave pattern.

You’re using the wrong brush.

“I always recommend using a boar bristle brush for the smoothest blowouts,” says Rogers.

Rogers says, “Blot with a towel as opposed to rubbing, which can raise the cuticle.”

Before catching some z’s you should check that your strands are protected.

“I like a topknot for bedtime,” says Roger.

You’ll wake up with smooth strands if you avoid using an elastic.

“Also, avoid any product with a high alcohol content,” says Rogers.

“This will have a drying effect on hair, which creates a frizzier, rougher result.”

“No pre-drying is necessary if this is your hair pop in,” says Rogers.
