When I was a little girl, my grandfather had aheart attack.

In this recipe for buttermilk biscuits, I use some of her heart-healthy baking techniques.

I think that you will find that these biscuits fit that description.

They are easy to make and enjoyed by all!

baking powder

1/4 tsp.

baking soda

1/2 tsp.

Sift flour and measure carefully into a large mixing bowl.

Sifting is important for a fluffy biscuit.

Mix flour and other dry ingredients together well with wire whisk.

Bake 10-12 minutes or until lightly golden brown.

you could serve them as a side item, as I have done here with these tossed mixed greens.

Or as a treat, top them with some simply fruit preserves.
