Breatharianism would be almost a laughable concept if it werent so dangerous.

As a registered dietitian, Im calling BS on these scammers.

This couples beliefs do not eclipsescience.

In general, people need around 1,400 to 1,600 calories a day just for basic metabolic functioning.

You know, to keep your heart beating, lungs breathing, that sort of stuff.

Food and water really arent optional.

With water but no food,its a bit longerpotentially monthsbut it really depends on the circumstances.

Thats the most offensive part of this breatharian couples outrageous claims.

The amount of food they say theyre eating would put their intake at anear-total starvation level.

We need food to live.

Somehow, she managed to deliver children who she says (and who appear to be) completely healthy.

To say this is doubtful is an understatement.

Proper nutrition is optimal for ensuring a healthy pregnancy, and ideally, a healthy baby down the road.

They dont deserve a medal for that base level of parenting.

There are people out there who might actually believe that these people are living in this manner.

There are people witheating disordersor at risk of them who might be triggered by this couples absurd proclamations.

This delusional grab for attention and five minutes of fame is sickening.

It makes no difference what this couple says, because science exists.

The truth is, no matter what you believe, enlightenment doesnt come from starvation.
