One of my biggest barriers when it comes to getting a good nights sleep is sweat.
Courtesy of the brand
Summer or winter, I wake coated in sweat, comforter kicked off (and sometimes pajamas too).
Its a gross feeling and one that no magicalsheet set, be they linen or percale, can shake.
I didnt think there was a solution to thisnight sweatsproblem until my friend recommended theEight Sleep Pod Pro Cover.
This is how the home screen of the Eight Sleep app looks for me with a summary of last night’s Sleep Fitness, my HRV, HR, and Autopilot preferences.
The company sent me its Cover to review (and included its 8+ Pro membership as well).
Heres my full Eight Sleep Pod review.
What Is the Eight Sleep Pod Pro Cover?
Here’s a look at one of my daily Sleep Reports. In addition to letting me know when I went to bed, woke up, how often I tossed and turned, etc., the app shows a graph of my varying sleep stages, from awake to deepest sleep.
The Cover syncs with an app that monitors your sleep data and the temperature of the room.
you could also set a haptic alarm that gently vibrates you awake.
Ive used the Eight Sleep Pod Pro 2 Cover for around six months.
Watch thevideo instructionsto help you set up.
The temperatures span from -10 (deemed extremely cold by the app) to +10 (extremely hot).
At my set bedtime, I program the bed to feel -5 (very cold).
When my bedroom grew warmer during the summer, the app tweaked its temperatures.
The Eight Sleep app has a tab for its Sleep Report as well as a Health Report.
I turned seven times and my heartbeats per minute ranged from 49 to 60.
Separately, the Health Report tracks my heart-rate variability, sleeping heart rate, and sleeping respiratory rate.
The same would occur for the other metrics should they fluctuate too far beyond whats normal for me.

However, its still a pleasant, gentle way to wake instead of my phones alarm.
The Cons
The Eight Sleep Pod Pro Cover is not cheap.
Its Pod 3 Cover (the most recent release) is regularly $2,195 for a queen-size cover.
Its Pod 2 Pro Cover, which is what I have, is $1,895 for the same size.
No matter the version, its still pricier than buying a new mattress sans Cover.
Youll also get sleep tracking, the GentleRise alarm, and be able to receive health reports.
Do I enjoy it enough to keep paying a steep monthly fee forever?
This usually involves me unplugging the unit, waiting, and then trying again.
Hands down, I sleep better using the Eight Sleep Pod Pro Cover.
When I sleep on beds without the Cover, I sorely miss its comforting cool.
For a sensitive sleeper like me, the Eight Sleep Pod Pro makes all the difference.
