Governors Ball took place on NYC’s Randall’s Island this weekend.

That said, even just having two days was a serious thrill.

Here, eight things I learned during my experience.

Take ‘em to Bonnaroo, on Phish tour, or just save ‘em for GovBall next year.

Yeah, it matters what you wear

But not because you should be seen.

No, for me, it was about feeling good and feelingcomfortable.

If blisters and general soreness keep you from going all out, its a total shame.

As the good SELF staffer I am, I even opted for my Nike running shoes on Sunday.

Frankly, I needed that walking-on-a-cloud feeling.

If you ever get the chance to see them, do it.

Julian Casablancas did not disappoint.

I did not expect the amazing sweaty party that happened.

Let’s just say my necklace and my purse broke during this set.

Dancing at a festival is a full-body workout

Do not let anyone else tell you otherwise.

My whole body down to my toe nails is sore from the jumping, head banging, arm swaying/throwing.

So, yes, I am indeed rocking that same glorious high you get after a solid workout.
