So what’s adairy-shunning veganto do?
Oh, just start her own vegan bakery, go on to winCupcake Wars(twice!)
and then write a book.
At least, that was Doron Petersan’s solution, whoseSticky Fingers' Sweetscookbook hit shelves earlier this winter.
Petersan gave up animals for good at the age of 22 after working at a veterinarian’s office.
“I knew I couldn’t eat animals and work with them,” she tells HealthySELF.
And she hasn’t looked back.
It’s made me a more creative cook and eater," she says.
Despite her dessert-centric life, Doron finds plenty of ways to stayfit and healthy.
We grilled her on her must-have ingredients and how she stays slim while eating cupcakes!
We foodies can’t keep secrets.

What do you love about cycling and what else do you do to stay healthy?
I do love to eat, a lot and often.
But fitness is about the balance.
Exercise keeps me centered and focused when my world is doing laps around me.
I venture to always have a goal.
And I have to have fun while doing it.
What’s your biggest fitness hurdle?
There is always work to be done and I am easily distracted.
Remembering that fitness is about both mental and physical health reminds me of the benefits.
What’s the best workout class you’ve ever taken?
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve received?
“Engage brain before engaging mouth,” from my Grandpa Cellura.
I work and fail at this daily.
