Am I just being paranoid?

But, for now at least, I have real cause for concern.

But any attempts to really do this were always short-lived.

All of my lovely, lovely trash.

Id never get further than jotting down a coffee cup and breakfast sandwich wrapper before getting sidetracked.

(I have a short attention span, what can I say?)

I knew that if I actually wanted it to stick, Id have to take drastic action.

Back at it again with the same coffee cup.

Needless to say, my editors were into it.

Here’s what I learned.

To my surprise and chagrin, I found very little.

Treat yourself trash.

What I did find was exclusive tofood waste, and keeping track of it.

But for anyone trying to reduce overall waste, the pickings are slim.

Its very discouraging to look for help and find none.

Not my finest day.

No wonder I couldnt manage to stick to this project before!

Until this experiment, I was under the impression that I created a bunch of trash everywhere I went.

Turns out, I actually dont make much when Im not out and about.

Delivery and face masks on Saturday.

So I used a plate instead and ate my lunch away from my desk.

(I know, crazy, right?).

Some days were better than others, but all in all, it really wasnt that much.

If I make one trash cans worth of garbage in a week, thats four in a month.

Most of my items were things that could be recycled, like paper boxes or cans.

Now I know that, and I didnt before.

So will I start using the cafeterias plates more often?

And will I invest in a reusable coffee cup?

You bet I will.
