I hate shopping for jeans.
Dana Davenport
Then, pull the pants up to the knees.
Hop around to get the thighs in just right.
Finally, lean on the bed to button the jeans and do a few squats.
It takes a few minutes, but I was good with that process.
These jeans hugged my curves perfectly, and now I would have to hunt for another pair.
Trying to find a new pair of jeans as a woman with curves can be a demoralizing process.
I never know which size will work because every brand has a different fit model.
And most jeans aren’t cut to accomodate thick thighs and a voluptuous derriere.
But it shouldn’t be this complicated!
First, I did a lot of testing.
I tried on about 20 pairs of size 29 jeans (SO many gratuitous bathroom mirror selfies).
The majority of them were mid-rise or high-rise because putting my ass in low-rise is just ASKING for crack.
And the cuts included skinny, straight, and boot styles.
I also eliminated pairs if I saw that unfortunate gap at the waistline.
In the end, these are the five pairs I like besttotally curvy-girl approved.
This pair of Guess jeans is the most like my old favorites.
My butt looked amazing in this pair (plump and round and perky).
The extra vertical seam right above the pockets gave my bum a bit of extra breathing room.
But the waist extended back inwards for a more comfortable (crack-free) fit.
Also the legs werent so tight that my circulation was cut off.
it’s possible for you to see that my knees have room to move.
Seriously, I thought,This must be what those pajama jeans from the infomercials feel like.
These fit like a glove and felt just like the workout leggings I usually wear on Saturday afternoons.
The high-waist cut kept everything in its proper place (meaning my little belly pooch wasnt overflowing).
These pants are definitely going to be my office staple come September.
They have a good amount of stretch, but they actually have that textured denim feel.
Usually I stay away from bootcut jeans because I’m short AF.
I feel like the big pockets also complemented my apple bottom.
A few things I learned: Always go for mid-rise or high-rise to avoid mooning others.
Bootcut jeans balance out hourglass hips.
And some punch in of spandex is a requirement.
That is just the way I was made.
