When I first saw theSephora Perfection Mist Airbrush Blush($20), I was curious.
Valerie Fischel
Would blush in a can be faster than my usual powder routine?
Would I end up with blush in my eye?
Would the color come out harsh like spray paint?
Valerie Fischel
This isn’t the first color cosmetic to get an aerosol update.
There’s alreadyspray-on nail polishandairbrush foundationavailable in the beauty aisle.
However, blush requires a certain amount of precision.

So, I decided to take the spray-on product for a test run.
The instructions say to shake the can, and spray the blush at the apples of the cheeks.
It also warns you to protect hair and clothes, which made me a little wary.

So, I started with a test spritz on my hand.
The color came out in a concentrated burst, leaving a clear circular pattern.
That’s when I felt it was safe to move to my face.
The first spray of the Orange You Glad shade gave me a subtle splash of color.
After a few more pumps of the can, I had a stronger coral flush.
you might blend the product in with your fingers or brush.
The finish doesnt feel sticky or waxy on the skin as youd expect from a spray.
But the thing that impressed me the most: It lasted all day.
Personally, I believe blush is a makeup essential (that and a greateyebrow pencil).
But typically powders and creams fade by 5 p.m.
This airbrush version lasted well past dinner, without the need for a touchup.
It’s also impossible to tell that it came from a can.
The color looks natural, not splotchy.
Plus, the spray can is pretty fun to useonce you get the hang of it.
