“I told [my best friend] that I didn’t want to have my abuser’s baby.
I could not create a life with such a hateful man.
And then I waited for her judgementbut it never came.”
“I asked for an abortion, but my request was denied.
The doctor said, ‘It is the hospital’s policy not to perform abortions.
We won’t risk our reputation… Five or 10 years ago, I could have helped.
But today, it puts us at too great a risk.’
