How does it feel to finally have a full-length album out?It feels good.

How isLUCYdifferent from your previous work?

First of all, there are more original songs.

And I definitely think that they reflect what I’ve been up to the past couple of years.

How do you write your music and lyrics?

It’s kind of a mysterious process, really.

What kind of music inspires you?

I’m a big fan of English and Irish and Scottish folk songs and stuff.

I’ve been listening a lot to Brandi Carlile’s record and I’m a big Joni Mitchell fan.

I’m actually a big Eminem fan.

So what was it like growing up in such a musical family?

I mean, I really liked it.

So I think it was a pretty interesting way to grow up.

Did you always want to be a musician?

No, I didn’t want to be at all.

and I’d be like ‘No!’

So you’ve ended up exactly where you didn’t want to be as a kid.

Yeah, I think everyone was really surprised.

What made you make the career change?

Now, I’m in a different place every day and there isn’t really that consistency.

I miss being part of a community.

How do you stay healthy while on tour?

At a gas station, you could’t find anything worth eating most days.

Certainly, it’s difficult.

And it’s also difficult to get into a routine, you know, while your changing locations everyday.

What do you snack while on the road?

I have kind of a fear of fast food restaurants.

So that can be bad habit to get into.
