In some cases, there can be zero sweat production afterward, Dr. Zeichner says.
But most people will experience a significant reduction, but not complete dryness.
With less sweat production, theres also usually less odor, Dr. Zeichner adds.

Thats because BO is caused bysweat mixing with bacteriaon your skin, which thrive in moist environments.
So the drier your pits are, the less likely they are to stink.
Not to mention, Botox certainly isnt cheap, nor is it always covered by insurance.
And so the burning question is: Can a few shotsreallyget rid of those embarrassing pit stains this summer?
Its the only thing that works for me.

Was it worth it?Yes.
Nothing else I tried was successful for my excessive sweating.
I saw a dermatologist who recommended prescription topical treatments.
They were helpful at first, but they ended up irritating my skin.
I also took oral medications, but they made mymouth really dry.
So my dermatologist suggested Botox as a last resort.
As for the results, it took about two weeks for the Botox to kick in.
It was just too expensive for me to do consistently.

Was it worth it?No.
In general, I did notice a difference in how much I sweat.
The main reason I dont think its worth it, however, is because its too expensive.
The results also didnt last long enough to justify spending more than $1,000 multiple times a year.
If it were cheaper or more permanent, I would definitely speak more highly of this treatment.
I alsowork out regularly, so Im not sure if that affected my results.
After the first time, I think it stopped working.
I started getting Botox in this area in my late 20s.
I sweat a lot (mostly in my armpits) and the smell bothers me.
My shirts would be stained yellow, and Ive been insecure about this since middle school.
The first time I got underarm Botox, it was worth it.
For months, my pits were dry and didnt stink, which was a miracle.
The problem is that Ive done this about five times total so far, and it stopped working.
I need to find a new solution.
The injections can be extremely painful, but the results are worth it every time.
In my opinion, its a thousand percent worth it.
I felt the results pretty immediately, around two weeks post-treatment.
I went from obvious wet marks to nothing at all!
The appointments are rather quick and easy.
100% worth itbut only if its covered by insurance or the out-of-pocket fee is acceptable.
Age:40
Was it worth it:For the first three years, yes.
Yes, it was painful: 50 units in each pit stung a good amount.
About a week after the treatment, my underarms were bone-dry and stayed that way for months.
The duration of being dry got shorter and shorter, eventually only lasting a month.
At that point, it wasnt worth the trouble.
I know that injectables dont work for everyone, and no two hyperhidrosis sufferers have the same experience.
