“She could be sitting there and say, ‘Stop and look at the color of the sky!’
or ‘Look at the way this rose is unfurling!’
“I have a lot to be happy about in life.”
Suzy Amis Cameron, R, on the new (mid-construction!)
campus of her school, Muse, with her architect and contractors.
**
You started a school, Muse, in the L.A. area several years ago.
This school was advertising itself as a very organic, healthy, sustainable school!
The school is moving to a new, more eco-friendly, location this year.
We only use china and silverware and glasses.
We use organic, biodegradable cleaning products.
It’s a dye-free, pesticide-free, toxic-free zone.
And having a new campus, we’re able to take that to a completely different level.
Like, I don’t think I can do that, guys!
He would fly his falcon at dawn and dusk, and we cut our rodents down by 95 percent.
So are you still able to make time for exercise with all your school responsibilities?
It’s such a huge priority to me.
I do something every day; even on a busy day I will walk at least two miles.
What’s in the Cameron family fridge?
Everything in our fridge and pantry is organic.
Everything we eat is clean and healthy.
And you’re able to’t find a plastic bottle in our house.
We have a water filtration system, and everyone has a Kleen Kanteen.
So we’ve got filtered water and bubbly water all the time, and there’s no waste.
So what’s your most unhealthy habit?
I love to drink tea, though I only drink decaf.
Uh, that doesn’t sound so bad.
OK, I love champagne.
I absolutely love and adore champagne.
Once a week, I’ll have a couple of glasses.
What’s your most urgent goal?
And to leave the best world possible for those children – mine and everyone else’s.
