Have you been cheering on the U.S. women’s swim team?

Female athletes have really stood out at the Games this year.

For the first time, Team USA had more women on the team than men.

Any other special moments for you in London?

A highlight of my experience in London was actually sitting with first lady Michelle Obama.

I’m one of the athletes in this awesome group of Team Kellogg’s.

Did your love of cereal have anything to do with it?

I am addicted to cereal.

I am one of those people who just loves their cereal morning, noon and night.

But it doesn’t hold true for breakfast.

What else do you like for breakfast?

I always have fresh fruit in the house.

We’re a big fruit-and-veggie family, so I’ll put some fresh fruit out.

I might have some hard-boiled eggs.

What would you say is your healthiest habit?

My healthiest habit is eating a healthy breakfast every morning.

I never miss breakfast.

And my kids talk at breakfast.

And your least healthy habit?

You know, I have a sweet tooth.

My dad was a dentist, and he had the biggest sweet tooth.

He always had candy around.

It was very funny.

When people say, “Hey, wanna come to our house for dinner?”

I say, “Yeah, what should I bring?”

They say, “How about the dessert?”

I just don’t skimp on the dessert.

Now, I’m pretty good at everything in moderation.

How do you fit in fitness, especially when you’re on the go?

I fit my workouts in similarly to how I fit my work in.

I work in the cracks, and I work out in the cracks.

You have cracks in your day – every single day.

you should probably put it in the calendar – you’re more accountable that way.

It has to be a priority.

Yeah, because it really is going to make you happy.

People know you as a swimmer.

Is that what you still primarily do to work out?

Or do you have another favorite class or routine?

I love to swim.

When I jump in the water, I feel like I’m 12 years old again.

It’s really funny how it does that to me.

But realistically, with my lifestyle and all the travel that I do, my exercise choice is running.

So I’ll run a little bit, I’ll bike a little bit and then I’ll swim.

Do you have any other tricks for making exercise fun?

So we’d go to a morning swim workout, and then we’d go get a coffee afterward.

And frankly, it was the same time we would’ve met for coffee anyway.

It’s just the fact that we got up really early when the sun wasn’t up yet.

A totally different way to view date night with your friends.
