Over the years, I’ve realized my mother and I have a one of a kind relationship.
Not only was I born into our family as her daughter, but I am also her best friend.
I was confused and upset.
My mother said nothing and hugged me instead, reassuring me that everything will be okay.
She then whispered in my ear, “I always thought of you as my best friend.”
I looked up at her and she smiled back down at me.
It suddenly dawned on me- it was her.
My mother was my best friend.
A mother and a best friend- it’s an unconditional love and an unbreakable bond that will last forever.
I couldn’t ask for more.
