Seven years later, Hofstetter is channeling her inner Darcy.

She currently lives in Utah with her husband and is the founder of her own company, Guesterly.

She’s also a Tabata instructor at the University of Utah, teaching two 45-minute classes per week.

“I do it because it’s so fun, and freeing,” she continues.

But teaching is fun in the moment.

“I don’t have an ultimatum when I teach.

The entrepreneur-slash-instructor also enjoys getting a behind-the-scenes view of something she truly enjoys.

“I’ve always loved fitness classes, and I have so much more respect for fitness instructors now.

It’s a lot of work to get the music and plan your routine.

Plus, real talk?

Hofstetter loves being in the spotlight.

“I love having the microphone,” she confesses.

“I have this team and I get to pump them up!

It’s awesome!”

And that affinity for the microphone has helped her improve her public speaking skills, too.

And finally, teaching has also helped her hone her time management skills.

“Teaching has taught me how to work smarter.

“And if nothing else, it guarantees that I work out!”

Her 9-to-5:Director of Business Development foriLearnERP, a software company.

Then, the university approached her and asked her if she’d teach aerobics.

“I couldn’t make the living I wanted to make as a personal trainer.

What I do now makes six figures,” she says.

Now, she teaches about five hours of classes, from spinning to aerobics, each week.

So why does she keep up her fitness side hustle if she’s already making enough to sustain herself?

It’s simply not about the moneyit’s about the community.

“The club is like a family.

It’s also a nice break from her desk job.

“I like the interaction.

I like being around people.

It’s as much for me as it is about everyone else.”

Not to mention the accountability factor.

I can’t disappoint my students by not showing up!”

Her fitness side hustle:Instructor at Cardio Barre in Santa Monica and Hollywood.

Her story:Before working as a full-time physical therapy aide, Ahrold was a full-time professional dancer.

“The timing couldn’t have been more perfect.

So why does the barre instructor, um, balance two jobs?

“I can never do just one thing; I won’t be satisfied,” she begins.

She’s also in it for the people.

And finally, her time in class has helped her improve at her regular PT gig, too.

“My time at Cardio Barre has set me up to thrive in fast-paced, high-energy situations.
