I also indulge in the occasional ice-cream cone and milky tea.

I eat a healthy diet overall, but Imeating a lot of dairy.

Heres a look at my dairy free diet diary from those long seven days.

I love butter, but use it sparingly.

This version consists of a large kale salad with a hard-boiled egg and loads of veggies.

I play make-believe that the chunks of tofu are mozzarella balls.

Making my own almond milk.

Me: Sad face, but victorious.

So I decide to made my own cashew milk.

This process is so easy: raw cashews, filtered water, agave, sea salt, then blend.

Its so good that Im trying not to gulp it down in one setting.

One of my go-to lunches is eggs topped with veggies and Cotija.

That evening my husband makes homemade popcorn with butter and I angry-eat a peach.

Ive hit a road block called “leaving the house.

“Going out to dinnerproves to be very difficult.

Also, twoAdvil, which contains no dairy (insert praying emoji).

Its the freaking weekend which means ME TIME… and which normally meanswineand cheese time.

I think that I want it more because I cant have it.

I eat them anyway and hope Im not cheating, but kind of dont care.

The result is fragrant and filling, and I dont miss the dairy.

Plus, its a meal that I can eat throughout the week, carrying out my new low-dairy lifestyle.

Ive also marinated and baked tofu cubes, which, when dusted with cornstarch, almost taste like cheese.

Or just really, really good tofu bites.

This short experiment made me realize that you might have too much of a good thing.

Also, making my own nut milk is super easy, tastes so much better, and is satisfying.

I wont say good-bye to dairy forever, but Im OK with our long-distance relationship.

Now pass the cheese, hey.
