Happy National Doughnut Day, y’all!
(If you didn’t know, now you do.)
Eva and Cory braved the city streets to give you an inside peek at the cronut craze.
6:00 AM: We’re the only person on the Q-train platform that’s not wearing scrubs.
Somehow, our mission to get cronuts seems equally important.
7:00 AM: We want coffee.
Took turns going on Starbucks and bathroom runs; we needed a change of scenery.
Still waiting in line.
7:30 AM: Made $2 taking a survey for a psychology student.
Got career advice from the lawyer standing next to us in line.
Meanwhile, the line has snaked around the block.
Bakery still not open.
8:10 AM: Gawked at the pastry chefs assembling our prize.
Shamelessly pressed our noses against the glass, mouths watered.
8:12 AM: Mission accomplished.
But the question is, was it worth the wait?
8:15 AM: Definitely good, but the hype was more exciting than the taste.
8:45 AM: 40 minutes early to work; nobody’s here.
Time to start our day.
