It carries on like this for 41 minutes.

Some people call us ASMR-tists, she tells SELF.

But whatever you want to call me is fine.

I’m not trying to be a millionaire, she says.

I’m just on a mission, really.

It’s just my purpose.

Shes collaborating with 15 other ASMR content creators to stage a massive live presentationan ASMR spanext year in Berlin.

Emma WhispersRed:I’ve always experienced thetingly sensation.

I didn’t know there was a name for it and that other people experienced it, too.

Then, in 2010, I had a car accident and developed PTSD afterwards.

I was told I was going to lose my leg.

I didn’t walk for a whole year.

But somehow, many operations later, I can walk again.

It was a couple of years down the line that thePTSDkicked in.

I was on YouTube looking for relaxation videos, and ended up finding ASMR videos.

I was obsessed with getting involved in the community.

I started a Facebook group called ASMR UK, and started chatting with people through that.

There was a meet-up of people who had ASMR channels, but it was only for content creators.

So, that’s when I started my channelbecause I just wanted to be at the meet-up.

I carried on making videos, but it was really just to connect with people.

But after a while, people were telling me that my voice was helping them sleep.

I didn’t think I’d be any good at it.

I didn’t tell anyone in my family.

No one in my house knew that I had a YouTube channel.

It’s a bit likeThe Viewin the U.S. By that point, my husband and my kids knew, but no one else knew.

You know, they call it brain-gasm, and whisper porn, and that kind of thing.

Because it looks strange to people who don’t experience it.

I completely understand that.

It’s really hard.

At first, I never shared that I had children or talked about my partner.

I ended up being Emma at home and then this WhispersRed person online.

So, I started sharing a bit more about myself, and everything just felt so much easier.

I share pictures of the children sometimes.

I’ve made a video with my husband.

I feel a lot more comfortable sharing everything now.

I feel like I’m reciprocating the friendship by sharing things about myself, too.

Just last year I started doing it full-time.

I was filming in the shed because the house was always busy and noisy.

Cardi Btweeted about it a while ago.

She said she watches this red-haired English lady and it turned out it was me.

You just don’t know who’s watching.

People often ask if I can give myself tingles.
