(What better way to show you’ve still got it?)
After yesterday’s ING NYC Marathon, it’s slashed off her bucket list!
Below, she gives you all you gotta know to ace one yourself.
Ok, most important question, no matter the event: What did you wear?
(And are you glad you wore it??)
What do you wish you would have known before the starting line?
“I wish I would have broughteven more clothesto the athletes' village to put on before the start.
That was probably the worst part.”
Any other advice to first-timers?
“Stick to your training plan!
Make it your religion.
I felt like it really, really helped me.
I used theHal Higdon marathon-training app.
I would definitely use it again.
Mile 23 was tough, but the whole way I thought ‘I’ve got this.’
And once I hit Central Park, I took off; I felt like I was flying.
I finished in 5 hours and 51 minutes.
That isn’t so speedy, but I reached my goal of not walking!
Next time, I’m going to switch the goal to something else.”
What was your favorite moment?
I’ll never look at First Avenue the same way again."[Ed.
Note: We may have gone a little misty-eyed looking at this photo, too.

Parting thought?
“Yesterday, I totally fell in love with New York City all over again.
People were screaming my name, yelling “You’ve got this!”
“You’re killing it!”
and I really felt like they were being heartfelt, like they meant it.
I felt like a rockstar, and I smiled through every mile.
I’m totally doing another marathon.”
confirm to tweet your congrats to SELF’s own rockstar, Kristen, at@KristenSaladino!
